<p>Jim Parsons, o eterno Sheldon Cooper de <a href="../../serie/158-the-big-bang-theory" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The Big Bang Theory</em></a>, contou recentemente o que o levou a deixar a série após 12 anos. A questão foi abordada no podcast de David Tennant (o décimo doutor em <a href="../../serie/636-doctor-who-2005" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Doctor Who</em></a>). A motivação não teve nada a ver com desentendimentos com a equipe, mas com uma série de fatores que vieram à tona em um "verão intenso".</p>

<p>"Eu estava exausto e muito chateado porque, acima de tudo, um dos nossos cachorros estava chegando ao fim da vida", contou Parsons. Dias após a partida do animal, o ator escorregou e quebrou o pé no palco de uma peça em Nova York. "Eu senti que estava à beira de um penhasco, cambaleando, e percebi algo realmente sombrio abaixo", disse. </p>
<p>O cão tinha 14 anos, e Parsons e o marido, Todd, estavam juntos por 15 anos, o que representou o fim de uma era. A percepção levou o ator à conclusão de que deveria usar o tempo para refletir.</p>

<p>Além disso, o intérprete de Sheldon percebeu que, ao fim da 12ª temporada da série, teria 46 anos de idade, e seu pai morreu ao 52. Parsons relatou que abriu o jogo com os produtores do seriado: "Se você me contasse que, assim como o meu pai, eu teria mais 6 anos para viver, acho que gostaria de tentar fazer outras coisas".</p>
